A profusion of mature Qatlab trees (Arbutus andrachne), a native to the Mediterranean but increasingly rare, inspired an in-situ biodiversity conservation approach not only protecting on site trees but successfully transplanting Qatlab trees that were uprooted in a nearby construction site. The garden features, lawn area and vegetable and herb gardens, are woven into the Qatlab clumps creating a landscape that is integral to the surrounding virgin landscapes.
