Independant consultanting work on this project was primarily redesign of exterior envelope for an un-built scheme previously planned and engineered by Dar al-Handasah Consultants.

This is for the main Beirut Central District electrical sub-station that transforms medium voltage to low current. It also has emergency power generators for traffic signaling.

The process started with three proposed broad alternatives, followed by few variations on each, then focused on one alternative that was subsequently developed and detailed: an urbane “temple of electricity”. Fully resolved wall sections and wall plans were conveyed to the original consultant for preparation of revised tender documents. Construction completed in 1996.
